Tia's leadership and business acumen have garnered prestigious nominations and recognitions, including Business Leader of the Year and RBC Woman of Influence. In 2023, she was honoured with the Nova Scotia Human Rights "Rocky Jones" Award and recognized as one of the Top 100 Black Women in Canada.
Currently, Tia serves as the Professional in Residence at the Saint Mary's University L. Arthur Entrepreneurship Centre, guiding aspiring entrepreneurs and fostering innovation. She is also the visionary founder and CEO of Blk Women in Excellence, a groundbreaking organization empowering Black women in Nova Scotia and Kelowna, BC, through community building and support.
Through motivational speaking, mentoring, and content creation, Tia provides practical insights and actionable strategies for aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly women. Her dedication to empowering women is evident in her role as a mentor for the Rise and Scotia Bank Women's Mentorship Initiative.
Established in 2020, Blk Women in Excellence NS & BC is a not-for-profit organization supporting Black women's education and empowerment in Nova Scotia and BC, fostering self-employment and sustainable businesses through workshops, coaching, and mentorship initiatives.
